There is something so incredibly special about documenting the very beginning of a family’s story — those first quiet hours, tiny details, and the overwhelming love that fills the room.
Sevannah and Kyle welcomed their sweet baby girl, Karli Jean, on December 12, 2025, at Allen Hospital in Waterloo. Karli arrived weighing 5 pounds, 9.4 ounces, absolutely perfect in every way.
We began with a Fresh 48 session at the hospital, capturing Karli just hours after birth — swaddled tight, sleepy, and surrounded by that brand-new-parent glow. Fresh 48 sessions are all about preserving the raw, real moments: tiny fingers, hospital bracelets, first snuggles, and the quiet in-between moments that pass far too quickly.
A couple of weeks later, Sevannah and Kyle brought Karli into the studio for her newborn session. As first-time parents, they settled right into the rhythm of holding her, soaking her in, and trusting the process — and it showed so beautifully in their images. Karli was calm, cozy, and absolutely content, allowing us to capture a mix of softly posed newborn portraits along with heartfelt, lifestyle moments with her parents.
These sessions together — Fresh 48 + newborn — tell such a complete story. From the very first hours to those early days at home, it’s a gift to be able to look back and remember just how small everything once was.
