January 2nd was my first day back in the studio after the New Year — and it couldn’t have been a sweeter way to begin 2026.

That morning welcomed two tiny newborns, both right around five pounds of pure sweetness. The kind of babies who seem to melt into your hands. The kind of sessions that slow everything down and remind you why this work matters so much.

January has a softness to it. The studio feels quieter. The light is gentle. Newborns are still brand new to the world, and everything about the day feels calm and unhurried. These two sessions were filled with sleepy stretches, tiny fingers, and the kind of peaceful moments that only happen in those first days of life.

Baby Karli’s Studio Newborn Session

Sweet baby Karli was first, and she was an absolute dream. So tiny, so peaceful, and perfectly content being snuggled and gently posed throughout her session.

Her family chose a full studio newborn session, which allowed space for both softly styled newborn portraits and relaxed, lifestyle family moments. There was no rushing — just time to pause, to soothe, to feed, and to follow Karli’s lead. She slept beautifully, and together we created a gallery that feels timeless, calm, and full of love.

These are the kinds of images that freeze a moment parents often wish they could stay in just a little longer.

A Lifestyle Newborn Session with Baby Amir

Later that day, I welcomed another precious five-pound baby Amir for a lifestyle newborn session focused on connection and natural moments.

Lifestyle sessions have a very different rhythm. They’re about closeness, quiet touches, and the way families instinctively gather around their newest little person. Amir was absolutely perfect — snuggled in, surrounded by love, and completely at ease.

These sessions tell the story of what those early days truly feel like: intimate, emotional, and fleeting in the most beautiful way.

Why January Feels So Special for Newborn Sessions

January newborn sessions hold a special place in my heart. The studio stays warm and cozy while the world outside slows down. Parents don’t have to worry about weather or schedules, and there’s room to simply be present.

Winter sessions allow space for rest, feeding, and gentle pacing — creating an experience that feels just as meaningful as the images themselves.

If you’re expecting and dreaming of newborn photos that feel calm, connected, and true to your family, I’d be honored to create that space for you.
